Cookie Policy
Last updated: 1 June 2026
This cookie policy explains how OXIAE uses cookies and similar techniques on the website oxiae.com. We believe it is important that you understand which data is collected, for what purpose and how you keep control over it. This policy accompanies our privacy policy, in which we describe more broadly how we handle personal data.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that are placed on and read from your computer, tablet or phone when you visit a website. They allow a website to recognize your device on a subsequent visit or while navigating between pages. In addition to cookies, websites sometimes use similar techniques, such as pixels, web beacons and local storage. Where we refer in this policy to “cookies”, we also mean these similar techniques.
Cookies can be placed by OXIAE itself (first-party cookies) or by third parties whose services we use (third-party cookies). In addition, there are session cookies, which disappear automatically as soon as you close your browser, and persistent cookies, which remain on your device for a defined period.
2. Why we use cookies
We use cookies to make our website work properly, to improve your user experience and to understand how visitors use our website. Specifically, we use cookies for the following purposes:
- making the website technically possible and secure;
- remembering your preferences and the choices you have made;
- measuring and analyzing the use of the website, so we can improve it;
- showing relevant content and, with your consent, advertisements;
- measuring the effectiveness of our campaigns.
We place necessary and functional cookies to make the website work reliably. We place analytics and marketing cookies only when you have given consent to do so. This fits within our broader approach to GDPR compliance.
3. Types of cookies we use
Below you will find an overview of the categories of cookies we use, with the purpose, an example and the maximum retention period for each category. The examples and periods mentioned are indicative and may change when we adjust our services or suppliers.
| Category | Purpose | Example | Retention period |
|---|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Ensures the website works technically: session management, security, language choice and remembering your cookie preferences. | oxiae_session, oxiae_consent, csrf_token | Session up to 12 months |
| Functional | Remembers choices you make and improves your user experience, such as completed form fields and preferences. | oxiae_prefs, form_state | Session up to 6 months |
| Analytics | Provides insight into how visitors use the website, so we can improve performance and content. Anonymized where possible. | Statistics cookies (for example, a privacy-friendly analytics tool) | Up to 24 months |
| Marketing | Tracks your browsing behavior to show relevant ads and measure campaign effectiveness. Placed only with your consent. | Third-party advertising and remarketing cookies | Up to 12 months |
Necessary cookies are always active, because the website does not work properly without these cookies. For functional cookies we ask for your consent where applicable. Analytics and marketing cookies are placed only after you have explicitly consented to them.
4. Consent & withdrawing it
On your first visit to our website we show a cookie notice. In it you can indicate which categories of cookies you accept. We place necessary cookies without consent, because they are strictly required for the operation and security of the website. For analytics and marketing cookies we ask for your consent in advance.
Your consent is entirely voluntary and you can withdraw or change it at any time. This has no effect on your access to the website; only parts that depend on certain cookies may then work in a limited way. You can adjust your preferences via the cookie settings on our website or by deleting the cookies in your browser (see section 5). Withdrawing consent applies going forward and does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing based on your consent. How we record consent and provenance with every request is explained under consent & provenance and verification & consent.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
In addition to the cookie settings on our website, you can also manage cookies via the settings of your browser. There you can view and delete placed cookies and set (certain) cookies to be refused. Please note that completely blocking cookies may affect the operation of this and other websites.
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
The exact steps may differ per browser version and device. When in doubt, consult your browser’s help function for the most up-to-date instructions.
6. Third-party cookies
For some functionalities we use services from third parties, which in turn may place cookies. These include, for example, providers of statistics, embedded content or advertising networks. These third parties process data under their own responsibility and on the basis of their own terms and privacy policies.
We do not have full control over the cookies these parties place and the data they collect. We therefore recommend that you also consult the cookie and privacy policy of the relevant third parties. We place third-party cookies in the analytics and marketing categories only after you have given consent to do so. You will find more information about the third parties we work with in our privacy policy.
7. Changes
We may amend this cookie policy from time to time, for example when we introduce new functionalities, engage other suppliers or when laws and regulations give cause to do so. You will always find the most up-to-date version on this page, with the date of the last change at the top. We advise you to consult this policy regularly, so you stay informed of the way we use cookies.
8. Contact
Do you have questions about this cookie policy or would you like to exercise your rights regarding your personal data? Then contact us. We are happy to help you further.
